A long authoritative statement now. makes it clear that Rumania has finally renounced her intention of asking the French Government for a loan of 100 million francs." It is explained that the inevitable delay through* the French Parliament having to vote the loan compels Rumania to seek other means of tiding over its difficulties, and most orders for war material have been given to Rumanian industries. This is advantageous both to Rumania and to France, to the former.on account of its depreciated exchange, and to the latter because it gives her an opportunity to practise another economy at the moment when she is endeavouring to find means of balancing her" Budget.' It is emphasised that Franco-Rumanian relations are in no way affected.
