ELECTRICITY FOR WAIRARAPA
Mr- J- C. Cooper, chairman, and Messrs. S. V. Moore and J: W. Kershaw members of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board, withy Mr. P. H. Smith (secretary), and W.K. R, Climie (engineer), waited upon the Minister _oi Public Works to-day^ in regard to several questions which have- arisen in connection with the supply of electric power to the board.
Mr. Cooper said that under the orinnal arrangement between the board and the Government the board was to take a supply equal to 2000 horse-flpwer, but owing to unforeseen circumstances the board would riot for some time require more than 1000 horse-power, and at present the boatfd could obtain sufficient power from the local installation to meet their requirements. The board, however, desires the Government to complete its line to the original site between Masterton and Carterton, for which the transmission poles had already been provided, and it was desired that the Government should also undertake to supply the board with additional power in case of a breakdown. •,'
After some discussion, the Minjjfer suggested that the engineers of the Government and of the board should confej on the question, and then possibly a definite arrangement could be made. Thii suggestion was agreed to.
