Griffiths met in the semi-finals of the men's singles, but the match was started late and the light failed before the contest Wn S c°ncluded, the score being two sets all. Bartleet won the first and third sets ("6-4 and 8-6), and Griffiths won the eecond and fourth (7-5 and 6-4). Results of other semi-finals so far played are as follow-. ! Men's Doubles.—E. L. Bartleet and H. -L. Robsonbeat Dr. Laurenson and Gower, 3-6,, 8-6, 6-2, 6-4 Ladies' Doubles.—Mrs. Hogberi and Miss B. M. Knight beat Miss KerrTaylor and Mrs. Scott-Watson, 0-6,: 6-2, 6-0; Misses Marjorie and Marion MacFarlane beat Miss N. MacCormick and Mrs. Marshall, 7-5, 7-9, -10-8. In the third round'of the ladies' singles Mrs. Hogben beat Mrs. Scott-Watson, 7-9, 6-3, .6-1. The winner showed good viorm. A feature of the first day's "play on Saturday was the promising'form'of several of the younger players. "
