Signor Mussolini, toasting M. Pasitch, said: "The Treaty just concluded has closed a tempestuous period in post-war history. Henceforward the economic, political, and spiritual collaboration of Italy and-Jugo-Slayia will constitute an essential element in European peace." Remarkable scenes of enthusiasm are reported from Fiume. Church bells were rung, and there were toxchlight processions. The Governor-General and dignitaries addressed the crowd, and congratulated them on Italy's retention of Fiume, exhorting them, to • let bygones be bygones. <AI)STRAL!A!(-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATIONS ROME, 27th January.
