NO MONKEY TRICKS

MR. VARLEY WARNS OPPOSITION

(STDNET (UN OABIK.) (Received 29th January, 10 a.m.) 'LONDON, 28th-Januaw. The "Daily Mail" says 'that Mr. Varley, M.P. for Mansfield, in a speech to his constituents, said that the Labour Government, had drafted' schemes for dealing with unemployment. It was determined that.money should not stand in the way of remedy. Housing would be tackled regardless of cost. The money must be found somehow, and the Government intended to hold an immediate inquiry into finance, including all forms of taxation.

It was also inquiring into the cosj of production of all necessaries of ■ life.

The Government would t*il the other parties that they could take snap votes and play monkey tricks in the House of Commons, btit Labour would not resign. If beaten on a no-confidence motion, Labour would resign and would tell the country why they were beaten.
