CENTRE CARNIVAL NEXT SATURDAY.

The Wellington Centre of the New Zealand Swimming Association will hold a.carnival at Te Aro Baths next Saturday afternoon. A very attractive programme of events, covering every form of aquatic sport, has hjken arranged. An added attraction will be:the appearance of South Island representatives, who will be returning from Wanganui, where they have been taking'part,'with a good measure of success, in the National Championships. Among them will I'c Miss Gwitha Shand, who is swimming at the top of her form this season, and has recently placed several records to her credit. To see her in action will alone be worth a visit to the baths, for she must now rank as'orie of the world's best lady swimmers. The carnival as a whole should prove one of- the most'interesting seen locally for-some time. -
