Permanent Investment and Loan Association of Canterbury, in their fifty-third annual bal-ance-sheet and accounts, state that, after payment of a dividend of 6 per cent, for the year there remains in the profit and loss account the sum of £1501 16s 6J, including £1316 0s 7d brought forward from last year. They also wish to record their deep regret at the death of Mr! W.M. Ollivier, who had been one of the association's auditors lor twenty-two years. Mr. J. B.
