' PARIS, 25th January. Further revelations of the devastation scandal? show that a contractor naroedFrot, claimed compensation in connection •with the Canal dv Nord, in the Lens area, which Frot was constructing in 1914. Although he received four-fifths: of tha value of the materials used in the canal before the war, Frot was since allowed an indemnity for the loss of these materials, which he assessed ab seven times their pre-war value. Finally ir lo t rebouglit the canal material on exceptionally good terms and resold tha material for reconstruction purposes. The Ministry of Works has entered an action, against Frot.
