In spite of an attractive programme, the attendance at Newtown Park was disappointing last evening, when a sports meeting, at which several champion athletes were present, was held. Owing to the slippery nature of the ground after the recent rain, the cycling events were postponed till to-raorrow. for the Heenan Baton relay race teams were:—University: D. Priestly C W Davis, F. S. Hill, and L. Tracy; Selwyn= R- A. Rose, M. Rose, E. Brown, and H. Sergeant. Rose led Priestly by about three yards over the first lap. I racy; University's last man, sprinted .well home, giving hist club the. baton by a win of 70 yards. The time taken for the entire distance, two miles (one lap of a half-mile, one of a quartermile, and two of 220 yards) wa s '3min 50sec. . . Results of the other races are100 Yards Ladies1 Race.—E.
