In connection with the alleged attempt to rescue a prisoner from gaol, detectives i rided a-house, in the suburbs, and arrested at the revolver point "Squizfcv" Taylor, Michael Costello, Albert Afros Charles Toolin, and Tbfemas Taylor on a charge of unlawfully conspiring to aid Angus Murray to escape ftoni Melbourne Gaol. ■ • tr-

The five men were later remanded for eight days. Costello is the warder who was dismissed from the gaol shortly after the discovery of the plot, and Toolin, a.clerk employed by a well-known firm of solicitors, who had frequent access to Murray in a professional capacity.
