CHILD AND MOTHER SAVED.

■■"'• FEILDING', This Day. Galla.it rescues were effected yesterday in the Rangitikei River at Kakariki. Mrs. Managh and heir children were at the river, and one child who was bathing; got into difficulties. The mother rushed to the rescue, and was washed down by the current. Misa Florence Ward, of Marton, plunged in and saved the child; and Eon Eade, of Feilding, taking his coat off, dived in off the 30-foot bank, and;1 being a strong swimmer, brought the mother ashore. He applied his life-saving knowledge, and brought her round in fifteen minutes. Eade is a member of a swimming family, and his brother is champion of the local club.
