THE TOMOKA'S PERSONNEL
SHIP'S DOG REFUSES TO LEAVE,
(WITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COFTMQHT.)
(A-JSTEAIIAX-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) NEW YORK, 20th January. As the position of "Rummy Bill" M'Coy and his crew has become more involved, a pathetic little story concerning an innocent member of the schooner Tomoka's personnel is revealed. Gyp, a Newfoundland dog, which was aboard the vessel when it was captured has remained true to his trust, refusing to leave. He is pent 'up because he attempted to attack every person who wished to come aboard, and beyond taking food, which they throw to him, he has refused to make friends with the Revenue officers or watchmen guarding the vessel, which is one of many rumrunning casuals docked here.
M!Coy and his crew mow face contempt of Court charges', because they refused to answer the question#put them in the Admiralty proceedings against the Tomoka. After being discharged on a technicality invalidating the rum-run-nin!; charges, they were rearrested, their bail increase^, and they will be held for the New Jersey authorities to deal with for landing liquor on the New Jersey shores. ,
