BOXER CONVICTED
RESOLUTION BY HAWKES BAY ASSOCIATION.

Warry Stone, the Australian' professional boxer,: was fined £5, in default one month s imprisonment, in the Magistrate's Court this -morning, -for procuring bj-false ' pretences a camera valued at £5. Stone said he redeemed the camera to save inconvenience to the owner, as he, Stone,: believed the pawn ticket 'was about to expire. ■ The Maeistrate_ said the story was too thin. At a meeting of the Hawkes Bay Boxinc Association held later in the day it was decided as follows:—" That.. after learning of the conviction, entered- against ■Harry Stone, and, after carefully considering the evidence submitted to this association, it is of opinion that the conyiction should not weigh' with, associations when considering the matching of fctone in a contest."
