RAILWAY BLOCKADE
AGAINST BRITISH ZONE,
(AUSTRALIAN - NEW 'fiLALASD CABLE ASSOCIATION.) ; LONDON, 21st January/ The "Daily Express" Cologne correspondent says'that Lord Crewe, British Ambassador, \ has asked France to explain why the Franco-Belgian railway authorities in occupied Germany are i '» posing a -partial blockade on the British Cologne zone. The only exceptions are the food supplies for the Army of Occupation., Even parcels/post is forbidden. Apparently the French action is a reprisal for the British refusal to accept the ; claims ol tne Franco-Belgian railway regime concerning the use of railways in the British zone.
News was. received in London from Cologne that the French Customs officials had issued a- prochmption practically prohibiting all railway goods traffic with. the British zone, except for foodstuffs and military transport.
