EMPRESS THEATRE.
At the Empress Theatre this week an admirable screen classic is being screened entitled "Where ' the North Begins." Shad Galloway (played by Pat Ilartigan), the bullying factor of a Hudson. Bay Trading post loves Felice M'Tavish (Claire Adams, an intrepid horsewoman and one of the most charming actresses of the screen) in his own aggressive, tyrannical way, but she in turn is beloved of Gabriel Dupre, a stalwart French-Canadian (Walter M'Grail). The success of Phyllis and Sammy Cope is being repeated this week, for they are providing another jazz interlude in connection
with the new bill. Mr. M. Dixon's orchestra is heard in the "Merry Wives of Windsor" oveiture arid catchy incidental music.
