ALLEGED EMBEZZLEMENT

(31 TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, 21st January. James Wilson, town clerk of Devonport, has been arrested on a charge of embezzlement of borough funds. The amount named in the charge is £706, including £354 which it is stated is missing. The arrested man has been employed by the council since 1908. AUCKLAND, This Day. At the Police Court to-day, James Wilson, charged with the misappropriation of £760 of the moneys of the Devonport Borough Council, was remanded till Thursday. Bail was fixed at £300.
