MR. WINSTON CHURCHILL
GROUP WHO THINK LDXE HIM.
IRETJTBR-S TELEGRAM.)
LONDON, 18th January . In connection with Mr. Churchill's letter, it is noteworthy that the Parliamentary industrial group has given notice ot an amendment to the Address-in-Re-ply saying that as an overwhelming majority of the members returned are definitely pledged against Socialism, it would be a violation of the expressed will of the electorate to place in power a Government which manifestly cannot on ,te own declared policy, effectively carry on the administration.
Mr. Winston Churchill has published a letter wherein he declares that the enthronement of a Socialist Government in office would be a serious national misfortune, comparable to defeat in war. He contends that the exhortation to give a chance to Labour would only really mean giving a-fair chance to faction and He paints a dark picture of the result of Socialist minority rule, and suggests that after Mr. Clyness amendment to the Address-in-Reply is carried, the House further record its repudiation of Socialism, and its distrust of the advocates of the capital levy and nationalisation.
