LONDON, 19th January. In the presence of forty thousand spectators, England beat Wales by 17 points to 9. The match was played at Swansea. England led 11-3 at half-time Wales made desperate efforts in the second half, but failed to break through the English defence. Each side added two unconverted tries.

In the Scottish trial match, Scotland beat the Rest of Scotland by 33 points

Ihe first international Rugby fixture between England and Wales took place in 1880, since when there have been 36 games, of which England has won 18 matches, Wales 16, aud 2 have been drawn. From 1914 to 1919 there were no games, owing to the Great War.
