"THE EASTBOURNIANS."
"The Eastbournians," a company comprising a number of amateur players formed in Eastbourne, with the main objective of giving help where such is required, tendered a concert on Friday evening in the Eastbourne Pavilion, the proceeds of which were in aid of St. Alban's Church Sunday School building fund. Those taking part in variety and vaudeville items were Misses Margaret Smith, Peggy Aekins, Gwen Carr, Norma Cook, Rene Woolley, Beryl and' Joyce Martin, and Messrs. G. Bennett, A. Hanton, N. White, L. Foley, E. M'Millan, and J. Hartridge. A portion of the entertainment consisted of a breezy comedietta, "Mrs. Baxter's Baby." Mr, J. Irvine acted as stage manager, and also contributed to the programme. The concert terminated with a dance, which was well attended.
The spirit of carnival is to be enjoyed at all sessions at The Ambassador during Welcome^ Week. Both diners and dancers may enjoy bright music in the new programme, and a, real cabaret atmosphere. All the resources of The Ambassador are centred on making the "long night" to-morrow enjoyable. Special novelties are to be introduced.
