TRENTHAM TRAINING NOTES

Most of the horses engaged at the meeting were out yesterday and this morning. Yesterday morning Bagdad and Piaraond Ring ran half a mile on the grass i:i 51sec. Over the same distance Blackhead and Auckland took 53sec. Motley took 37sec from the three fur- ■ longs post. A similar performance was registered by Hall Mark. White Ensign, a maiden from Hastings, in company with Kao Tahe, got over four furlongs in 50sec. Limelight galloped a mile and a quarter- in 2min 15sec, doing it easily. She took 53sec for the last half. Palestrina, alone, ran the last three of six furlongs in 39sec. Siaosi and Civility covered half a mile in 50sec. Lovesign the same distance in 49sec. Muria the last three in 39sec. Prince Ferouz and Sprinkler the last four in 54sec. Itoseday, Lougjhrea, Muraahi, and Mantua in company went a mile and a quarter and finished in the order named in 2min 12 2-ssec. Roseday appeared to have the best of it. This morning a heavy fog hung over the course, and it was with difficulty at the start of operations that either the horses or the posts could be seen. Glentruin and Zouave ran the last four of five iii 49sec. Parorangi and Auckland the last three in 37sec. Parody, alone, a half-mile in 50sec without being extended. Cold Steel and Zouave, in company, wete sent a mile, the last six furlongs taking lmin 20sec. Tukia broke 49sec for the last four of five furlongs. . Blackhead left four furlongs behind in 50sec. Queen March was responsible for a. similar performance. _ Limelight, carrying more than her Cup weight, covered a mile in lmin 4osec, doing it nicely. Scion and Royal Divorce went together en the tan, taking lmin 32sec for seven furlongs. Gold Light and Enthusiasm were together, and Palestrina about four lengths away, at the end of a mile and a quarter in.2minl2 3-ssec. Gold Light appeared to be the best. Kinsem ran the last three in 39sec. Bagdad and Diamond Ring took ■oOsec from the half-mile post. _ Glenross and Penelophon took lmin 3sec for five furlong?.
