A bright and pretty comedy-drama entitled "Kisses"! is thp chief attraction this week at-Sftortt's Theatre. ]t is the story of tJie struggle oi! a ci>Mtge: gi)l, Betty Estabr&ok, to reimburse her lats father's creditors by the establishment of .1 candy factory, Betty possessing a secret ingredient which makes the candy specially attractive. In spite of the attempt of an unscrupulous competitor .'to ruin her business, Betty struggles bravely on, and wins success. She ultimately sails the business for a quarter of-a million1 dollars, and pays off her father's debt 3 with something substantial to spare for h'frself. Alice Lake, \yho takes the principal part in this 'charming pjay, displays a wealth of joyous life and humour. Miss Lake is supported by a talented company.
