LAWRENCE GROSSMITH SEASON.

To-night, at the Grand Opera House, at 8 o'clock, will be presented the muchdiscussed new four-act play, "Quarantine." The return of so popular an English artist as Mr. Lawrence Grossmitli* will bo doubtless' warmjy welcomed —this moreover from the fact that the distinguished comedian comes with a nsw and perfectly delightful play in "Quarantine." The story, briefly, is of a couple who find themselves on shipboard with the usual set of fellow-passengers.. But here there is a difference. The. supposed husband is an explorer of some renown, but his wife secludes herself within her cabin and expectation is rife amongst her'fellowpassengers\as to her appearance, and lots of other things. The excuse offered by the husband is that his spouse is a victim of sea-sickness. It later transpires that she is a. young girl—the cousin of a. married woman who had' promised to elope with him. To make matters worse both passengers and the ship's company are" .quarantined on an island, and the young couple are forced to pass themselves off as. husband and wife. What transpires at the quarantine station and later at Esmeralda, an island somewhere between the Azores and the Bahamas, forms the basis for the greater part" of the comedy, and for. the sake of those who .will see the production, it would be unfair to explain. Mr. Grossmith gives an admirable rendition of the impeccable Tony Blunt. He is finely supported by.. Misses Diana Wilson, Dorothy Seacombe, Georgia Harvey, Mabel Gower, and Leslie Victor. Also during tlfe season will be" played -"Ambrose Applejohn's Adventure" and "The §ilyer Fox." The box plans are open at Tha Bristol. ;:.->. ■
