GISBORNE,' This Day. Work at the standed Port Elliot is proceeding satisfactorily, and practically all the dry cargo, including motor-cars, typewriters, and tractors, has, been re-' moved. The remainder of the cargo, including 4000 cases of benzine' and fifty motor-cars, is under water, and a diver, may be employed. A visit to the wreck shows the effect of the tremendous impact when the vessel struck. The bottom of the hull is severely rent, and the engines are seriously damaged, and are now practically renting on the rocks.
