TRAM ROUTES
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —There seems to be-some doubt about the Wallace street tram extension route to John street. Whatever diversion i 3 decided upon I think the Council should take into consideration1 the probability of a direct express route being advocated of a tram line from Wakefield atreet to Borhampore to join with the Island Bay tram there: In the event of such a line being constructed it should, in my opinion, be carried up Taranaki street, Wallace street, and straight on along the Town Belt border (to avoid buying of private property) which ap^ pears, to the ordinary individual to be an eaey grade direct to Berhamporo. Such a line would be the great NorthSouth outlet.—l am, etc.. L "AEATAPU.".
