FATAL FALL FROM A CART

An inquest concerning the death of a widower named Eichard Home, 32 years of age," who on Sunday sustained injuries to his head through falling from a cart .which he was driving, was conducted at the Magistrate's Court to-day by the Coroner, Mr. W. G. Eiddell, S.M. ■■ i ■ ■

The evidence called by Sergeant Duke showed that the deceased .was driving from:Trentham; where he lived, to the Hutt River to collect some goods that had been left there, when the cart rolled into a rather deep hole in the road. . Deceased was thrown to the ground, and his head struck a stone, and-he had to be assisted borne by his companions. He seemed all right when he was admitted to the Hospital on Monday, but lapsed into unconsciousness about 5 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon, when an operation was performed. He died at 8.30 o'clock.

,In accordance with the m,edical testimony, the Coroner found that death,was due .to fracture of the skullp caused through the deceased accidentally falling from a cart.on Sunday, 13th instant..
