AUSTRALIAN SUGAR

DUTY RATES.

On and after Ist March next the sugar duty provided for in the Customs Amendment Act of last session Will apply to sugar manufactured .in - Australia. In addition to the primage tluty of 1 per cent, ad valorem, imposed by the* Act of 1921, there will be charged upon Australian No. 22 colour, or over (Butch standard) sugar and' upon invest sugar, and syrup a duty, of 5-16 d per pound. This regulation .will apply from Ist March till 30th September, 1924; on and after Ist October,- 1924, the produce specified he imported duty free. Sugar, n.e.i., treacle, molasses, golden syrup, maple sugar; and maple syrup, will bo admitted.on and after Ist March next duty free.
