WASHINGTON,. 16th January. • The failure of the French Government to take steps to adjust the nation's war debt to the United States drew fire ;n the Senate to-day from Senator Borah. . . "The French Government is declining not only to meet its interest payments, but it even has made no effort to adjust the debt, as a creditor, acting in good faith,, naturally would desire to make," Senator Borah declared. ■. While France was unwilling to settle this debt she .Was lending large sums to Kuropean Governments, ho said, particularly to Poland and Czecho-Slo-vakia. Describing France as the greatest military Power in Europe ever known, benator i>orah said that the American taxpayers were meeting the cost of I'rance's army. ' .
