QUALIFIED FOR POLE
NAVY SECRETARY PLEASED.

WASHINGTON, 17th January. Commenting on the Shenandoah's safe return, Mr. ■ Edwin Denby, Secretary of the Navy, said that she had fully qualified herself to - undertake the Polar trip by her midnight flight. The Shenandoah had demonstrated that tho mooring facilities were adequate in the most unusual weather, and ;is long as she had fuel and provisions, she wa3 safe in the air. "It is-hardly "possible," he said, "that the Shenandonh will encounter on tho Arctic expedition any test so severe a s that which she has already met so successfully."
