Gard. and A. Campbell. '.'■'" : ! The Health Department wrote recomimendina; that the Pahautanui saleyards should be removed to a better position. If this was not done the inspector would not recommend re-registration. Advice -was received from the Railway "Department that to have the Gloucester street and Otaihanpa levej crossing made public crossings Tiad been refused. . The Valuation Department informed the council that the Department proposed to exempt the Croydon, School from ratin'i, this decision being provided for under a deed of trust. : It was 'a'Teed to support the request of the- Wellin'fjton Automobile Club that the council should refuse rights to certain firms to erect sign-boards, .as the club- was prepared to supply universal signboards. \ A -report submitted to .the council showed th.it building permits to the value of: £7729 were issued between Bth December, 1923, and 14th January 1924.
