BURSTING OF A RIFLE

DUNEDIN, 17th January.
At the inquest regarding the death of Agnes Sunderland, who died in the hospital from wounds received through the bursting of a dfie at Port Chalmers on New Year's Evo, the Coroner commented upon the folly of using, cartridges in the celebration of New Tear. The evidence showed ;that the breach of the rifle had burst, and a verdict of accidental death through the bursting of a rifle was returned. ,
