The fight between Luis Firpo, the ]}r;» ailian, and Jess Willard. ex-heavyweight champion of the world, scheduled for 12th July, is attracting much public attention. The men are training hard, nnd are in excellent condition. It is estimated thnt 80,000 spectators will be present, Firpo is favourite.
It is understood that Mr. Tex Rickard, the promoter,, plans to match the winner with Tom Gibbons, in the' expectation that Firpo will eventually meet Jack Dempsey.
