CONCERT AND DANCE RECITAL
There was only a fair attendance at tte Grand o pera House l as t evening! when an adnnrable concert and dance recital was .presented. It was really a very attractive/ a pd;Vtastefully chosen programme, and .was ■ deserving of muci greater patronage than it. received. Mis I< esta Carwell-Cooke, -.-who had-arrayed for Be^raratteactive>;,;darice:,;riuniber S) executed a pleasing "Danse/,Gaite?' iwhile •little Brenda Carr did a^baby^lka and M lsses J Palethorpe, M. Cas& MClouston, and a. Swinson were encoded for .their action doll song. Miss Zetia Übb was seen to advantage in aVi'Sur les pomtes dance, and Madge Castle gave- a- " Danse Classique." "BluV 1 Tr r P neUy song-dance, was given by Map L. Greig, and an Eastern dance was provided by Bliss Challis Longhurst. Iho Aeolian Quartet sang with line tone and expression, and the tenor suited to ; 'My Queen" and "Love'and Laughter. _ Miss Myra Sawyer, a. j- 6prano sang "E OO1 J :Wandering One"ami air, Sydney. Tingey anc^ Mr.TNoriL Aitken gave a good interpretaiion of a dramatic scene from "Sherlock Holme.." Mr. -W. Marsl la ll sang "Roll On,!' and/ supported by Mr. Jenkins, th' duet What of the Nfe&» bC M P Uw d ,T heei; Was c°n^utea .by.,.. Mr..B, H. Mayall.^. The, music for. the dances was provided- by the "Char--.Uy's Aunt" Club Orchestra,, under Mr. H. Cummins, and Mr: Clement Howe acted as accompanist. '•.'■•" '. '
