AUCKLAND, This Day., Fire destroyed a five-roomed house at Takapuna owned by Mrs.. Riffkin, and occupied by Mr. M'Carole and family Mr. and Mrs. M'Carole and three children got out with nothing but their night clothes. The house" was insured for £750 in the Northern Assurance Office,'and the 'furniture for £750 in the Australian Provincial Oflice, and £400 "in the Northern Office.
