PARIS, 7th July. '■ The Chamber ratified the Washington Naval Treaty by 400-to 106.

The report that the French Chamber oi Deputies, which is the the "Lower House ' of the Legislature, has ratified the Naval Limitations Treaty is of great importance. The parties to the Treaty are Britain, the United States. France Italy, and Japan. Only France and Italy so far failed to ratify the agreement; « 1, reserved attitude has had the eftect of delaying the operation of its provisions to a considerable extent Britain has carried out the provisions to the greatest extent; America and Japan have allowed them to operate in modification of construction, but ha.v« not, made any important reductions on their existing equipment.
