SYDNEY, Bth July. The three thousand;ton steamer Iron Monarch is ashore on a reef at Port Kembla. A gale is blowing, and heavy seas are running.

The Iron Monarch was in ballast waiting to load, and drifted on to the breakwater. Tho crew are safe, and salvage tugs have gone to the steamer's assistance. It is expected that she will come off.
