KHANDALLAH BOWLING CLUB

The annual meeting of the Khandallah Bowling Club, Ltd., was held on Thursday evening, when there was a good attendance of members, considering the boisterous weather. . Mr. William C. Stephens (president) ocupied the chair. • The fifteenth annual report and bal-ance-sheet was adopted. The president, in moving the adoption of the report, referred to the loss the club had sustained in the death of Mr. George Worsfold, all members standing for a'few moments as a mark of respect. The report reviewed, tho. progress of tho club for the past ■ year, and mentioned the results of the principal matches. - ...

The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. P. F. Hodgson; hon. secretary, Mr. H.. E. Gilbert (re-elected); hon. treasurer, Mr. H. H. Taylor (reelected) ; hon.,- 'auditor, Mr. E. F. Amoore; delegate to Wellington Bowling Centre, Mr. H. M. Nalder; directors, Messrs. J. Gringans, Colin Monro, and J. Mulford;. selection committee Messrs. M. H. Kendall,. H. Butt, and Edward Fletcher;'billiard table committee. Messrs. J. Hare, H. M. Nalder, and H. H. Taylor. \

It was resolved that the club favours the resumption of pennant matches. It was agreed that it" be, a recommendation to the directors of the club to call'up the balance of the share capital; also that it lie a recommendation to the directors that new members should' pay the full subscriptions. It was decided that tnc club should enter for tho pennant matches in coming season', provided, tl'iat the smaller clubs be allowed to enter two te.-nns instead of four.

Votes of thanks were accorded to the retiring president-and officers, and especially to Messrs. Gilbert, Nalder, and Taylor, for their valuable work as Grounds Committee and general all-round work • aiso to tho groundsman,-IT. Livesoy. The ladies were thanked for kind , assistance at the.various, functions and afternoon teas.

The newly-elected president. Mr. Hodgson, presented the following trophies „lo the successful winners of the club's competitions, as follow .-—Singles championship, boss Cup, to Mr. J. Bringanshandicap pairs, Bourke Mugs, to Messrs' H." M. Nalder, arid A. H. S. Lucas; full rinks, to Messrs. Shaw, Amoore, Gilbert, and Bringans (s); miniature silver cups were also presented to each successful competitor.
