■ WANGANUI, This Day. As the outcome of a police raid on a Chinese laundry yesterday, thirty-four Chinamen were arrested. This morning, at Court, Joe Vim \Dick was charged with keeping a common gaming house, and was fined £10 and costs. The others, charged with being found on the premises, were fined £1 • each, with costs.' Five who did not appear were ordered to show cause this afternoon why their bail, £5 each, should not be forfeited. The paraphernalia of fan-tan was seized, together with, a sum of money on the tables. Those charged included a number of strangers, who came to Wanganui to attend the funeral of a prominent Chinaman.
