DEATH OF DEAN THOMAS M'KENNA

The death, is announced from New Plymouth of the Very Reverend Dean Ihonias M'Kenna, aged sixty, tlean M itenna was born in Ireland, and came to New Zealand in 1888. He was stationed at different times at Masterton, Hawera, Patea, and Pahiatua. After twenty-six years spent at Pahiatua, he was appointed in, charge of Newtown, Wellington, proceeding last year to New Plymouth to succeed the late Dean James. Dean M'Kenna was taken seriously ill in September last, and this precluded any active work. Hopes held out for his recovery were not fulfilled. Monsignor John M'Kenna, Vicar-General of the Wellington Roman Catholic Archdiocese, and stationed at Masterton, is s brother of deceased. The late Dean took a prominent part in football and cricket in his younger days. A Press Association message states that Requiem Mass and the funeral will be held at Pahiatuw on Thursday. ,
