MELBOURNE, This Day.
A Bill has been introduced in the Federal House of Representatives to amend the Immigration Act. It prohibits entry into the Commonwealth of any person who advocates the overthrow by force of the Government of any civilised country, and also prohibits the entry of Germans, Austrian-Germans, Bulgarians, Hungarians, and Turks, for- a period of five years. Power is given to deport any person of foreign birth convicted in the Commonwealth of an offence punishable by imprisonment for one year or longer.
