"Ranji" Wilson is expected-to arrive back in New Zealand very soon now. So far as I can gather, it has not been definitely ascertained whether or no he will again turn out for Athletic. "Sid" Shearer who, before he went to the war, was an Oriental player, has now thrown in his lot with Selwyn. He played his first, game for thenj on Saturday. Another well-known footballer, who is due in New Zealand in. a few days, is Carmichael, the Oriental- player. He went away as a sergeant, and is coming back as a captain, and with a D.S.M, Mr. C. Ramsden has been appointed by the Wellington Rugby Union to act as one of the selectors, in place of Mr. Donovan, who resigned, owing to his new line of business. THE D. D. WEIR MEMOEIAL , FUND.
