"Sid" Shearer who, before he went to the war, was an Oriental player, has now thrown in his lot with Selwyn. He played his first, game for thenj on Saturday. Another well-known footballer, who is due in New Zealand in. a few days, is Carmichael, the Oriental- player. He went away as a sergeant, and is coming back as a captain, and with a D.S.M, Mr. C.
