RUMANIANS IN BUDAPEST

ACTING WITH PITILESS SEVERITY.

CUNITBD PIIEBS ASSOCIATION.—COPIRIGHT.J (AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) • (Received August 18, 8 a.m.) ROME, llth August. Italian newspapers state that the Rumanians continue their exactions in Budapest with, pitiless severity. A Rumanian commander refused even to read the British general's protest on behalf of the Entente. The Rumanians are seizing for themselves the Bolshevik plunder, including valuable jewels and furs. Such treasure trove abounds in the city. The Rumanians are masters of the situation and apparently intend to yield the command to nobody.
