JOHNSONVILLE SPORTS CLUB

The Johnsonville Combined Sports Club held its weekly meeting in the Assembly Hall, Johnsonville, on Wednesday, Mr. A. Washington presiding. Arrangements were made for the operations ofl the working bees on tho Rocreation Grounds and- to arrange with the Petone Merrymakers Concert Party to give a concert in aid of the football clubs and their members who havo mot with accidents during the seasou. Professor T. W. Kirk, who was present, gave the committee, very valuable information regarding the planting of trees and the proper kind to . plant in the, Recreation Grounds. He also gave a donation of 200 pine trees / A very hearty vote of thanks was tendered to Professor Kirk for his valuable information and donation. The young ladies' hockey club just formed was given permission to play a practice gamo on tho Recreation Grounds on Saturday next.
