The TJnion Company's new cargo steamer Kaiwarra arrived at Norfolk (Virginia) on the 9th August on her maiden voyage from England • lue vessel loads a coal cargo «t Norfolk for a port in California or British Columbia. • OPAWA TO RESUME. After having been held. up at Blenheim for some weeks owing to the bad state of the wairau bar, the Opawa is to resume her running. Captain Nicholas and the crew left for Picton by the Mapourika to-day, and the Opawa is expected to clear from Blenheim to-morrow. She should arrive at Wellington on Sunday, and will sail for Blenheim again on Monday. " The Kennedy -will probably be relaunched from the Patent Slip on Wednesday next. It i 3 hoped that she will be able to enter the Eoxton trade at the end of next week. The Kumara sailed from Colon on the 13th August, and is due at Port Chalmers on the 7th September. She carries a cargo of coal. . The Orari left Gisborne at midnight last night for Wellington, where she is due tomorrow.
