ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
As the Association football season advances, the interest in the senior division increases. Thistle and Porirua are to try conclusions on the Ba-sin Beserve on Saturday. Thistle Club is leading for the championship. Porirua is bringing in a strong eleven, reinforced by returned, soldiers, notably 6. Hughes. The sporting public who witness the match should see a scientific exhibition of the game. Mr. A. E. Wells will carry the whistle. At Association Park, Y.M.G.A. meets . Brooklyn. Y.jVL'C.A. are second on the championship list, and a good game should result. Mr. L. Dawson will be the referee. Both games commence at 2.45 p.m.
A very interesting lecture was given at the Boys' Institute last evening, when Mr. Colin Reid, of the Thistle Football Club, addressed about 100 of the younger members on the points of the game. The speaker used a blackboard to illustrate his lecture, and was listened to attentively by the boys. At the conclusion, the director thanked Mr. K«id.
