SCOTTISH SOCIETY CONCERT AT TRENTHAM
♦ — A concert party arranged by the Scotish Society visited Trentham Camp last night, and entertained a large audience in the V.M.C.A. Institute. "A varied programme was rendered by 'Mrs.' Prophet, Miss H. M'Lellan, Messrs. R. Bell. H. Phipps, J. Brown, and Geo. G. Savege (vocalists), T. Ward (xylophone), A. Lake and W. Patterson (pipers), and Misses R. Hands, J. Jelley, A. Currie, and A. Campbell (dancers). The' items rendered by the dancing troupe were most heartily applauded. Major Whyte thanked the Scottish Society for a most enjoyable evening, and recounted the experiences of the New Zealanders, in Scotland; the men showed their.; appreciation by three ringing cheers. Mr. A. Campbell, chief of the Scottish Society, thanked the officers, sisters, auc^ men for their hearty reception, and promised a return visit soon, t* Mr. -D. ,t M'Laren conducted the concert. The' cars that conveyed the party were'-sup-plied by the Hon. T. W. Hislop, Mr. A. Campbell, and Mr. D. Burke.
