BUBAPEST TORTURES

SENSATIONAL STORIES.

(Received August 14, 11 a.m.)

BUDAPEST, 11th August. Sensational stories of the maltreatment of the bourgeoisie show that torture chambers were fitted up in the vaults of the Parliament buildings. A favourite method of torture was to show the Victims the dismembered parts of a body, such as arms, legs, noses or eyes, and offer them a chance of saving their lives if they confessed or paid large sums of money. The corpses of the murdered were collected at night and throw*. >to the Danube, heavily weighted. Some of the torturers have been arrested and have confessed. One was in possession -of a number of blank warrants for the execution of political suspects.
