WORKMEN'S'HEROIC DEATHS.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.) (Received August 14, 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Michael Carrig, a. boilermaker, who was working inside a tar-still at the Mortlake Gasworks, was overcome by a sudden rush of fumes. His companion, Robert Allen, gave the alarm, and went to his assistance; but while looking for Carrig, collapsed. Another workman then attempted a rescue, and was also overcome after several attempts. Tho three bodies were later recovered.
