■ SYDNEY, 12th August, A jn&gnetic storm and eloottical pheno^ menon in the form of an Aurora Australia have interrupted telegraphic communication, between Adelaide and Sidney. '• ■i: .••
, The Superintendent of the Pacific Cable Board, Auckland, notifies:—"Barnfield (Vancouver Island) reports that all lines on the mainland are affected by lan exceptionally intense Aurora. We are cut off from Montreal, and are unable to aay what are the prospects." The Telegraph Department states that the New Zealand telegraph service has only been- partially affected, and only at intervale' yesterday -were there interruptions which delayed thd- traffic, but there.was no stoppage such as recorded by the Superintendent of the Pacific (Able Board.
