ASSOCIATION
. Last evening a meeting of the executive of the Wellington Football Association was held. Mr. W. Auld presided, and there were also present:—Messrs. J Ferguson, H. Yeoman, H. Splosky, W. L Duncan, C. Webster, A. Williams, and ' C. F, Ward. A letter was received from the secre- - tary of the Empire Club, reporting the non-appearance of a referee to 'control V their game at Petone on Saturday last. "} The team was put to some inconvenience, having to catoh an early train, and- a / friendly match had to be'played. The letter was received, and the match will \ be played at the end of the season if necessary A recommendation was received from ; the Boys' Sub-Committee, that senior players should be prevented from practising goal-kicking on a ground while a junior match was in progress. The; various clubs will be written to in an endeavour to stop this practice. The gate takings at the representa- : tive match played at the Basin Reserve b on Tuesday were £56 4s, of which the \ Association will receive £43 9s.
