[So far back as l9tb October-last arrangements had been mado for uniting the business interests of Cadbury Bros., Ltd., and J. S. Fry and Sons, Ltd., Bristol, by the formation of a holding •company. Tire two firms then had decided to carry oil business' in their own names am' under their own management, and their identities-were'to be maintained.. The holding company; acquired all ordinary shares of Cadbury ■Bros., Ltd., and A aiid B deferred ordinary shares of J. S. Fry, Ltd., all of which were held privately. Preference shares and other securities of the two companies which were quoted on the Birmingham Stock Exchange were | in no way disturbed by this arrange- | ment. J. S. Fry and Sons was established in 1728 a.nd Cadbuxy's in 1848. I The two, firms had . always been, in | friendly relationship right up to the I time of t_i> formation of tho holding company.
